The fast food chain is expected to introduce a new “McDonald’s-branded” fries on Tuesday, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The brand will be available at select stores, and will be served in two sizes, the traditional and the new “Fried Chicken & Waffle,” the paper reports.
The McDonalds brand is currently owned by McDonalds USA, a division of the parent company of the McDonalds Corporation.
McDonalds has previously struggled with its image as a fast food company, and is currently under investigation for its role in the death of a teenager, Jordan Belfort.
McDonalding has struggled with food safety concerns in the past.
A recent report from the Center for Science in the Public Interest found that McDonalds was the fifth most dangerous fast food restaurant in the United States for children under 18 years old.
Earlier this month, the company announced that it would be shutting down restaurants and reducing the number of restaurants it operates in a bid to focus on food safety.
