You don’t have to buy steak or make a steak bururger, but you can make your very own steak sauce by following this simple recipe.
You can use the same basic ingredients to make other sauces as well.
Start with a few tablespoons of flour and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
In a small bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients, including the remaining 1 tablespoon.
Combine the flour and sugar in a small saucepan.
Over medium heat, stir constantly for a few minutes until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
Stir in the remaining 3 tablespoons of the flour mixture and the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar mixture.
Stir until it’s combined.
Add the remaining flour mixture to the pan and stir constantly until the dough comes together.
You’ll know it’s done when it’s just a thick ball.
Transfer the dough to a floured baking sheet.
Bake the dough for 30 to 40 minutes, or until it is golden brown and no longer sticky.
Remove from the oven and let it cool.
While the dough cools, make the steak sauce.
Add 1 tablespoon water to the flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1/4 cup of the vinegar.
Add a pinch of salt.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add onions, garlic, and steak and cook until soft and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
Add flour, sugar, vinegar, and salt to the skillet.
Cook until the flour is browned and the mixture starts to thicken.
Add beef and stir until the sauce thickens.
Pour the sauce over the steak and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes *These recipes make about 1 cup.
*Be sure to check your oven’s internal temperature, since they can get a little hot during the baking process.
